My poor soon to be daughter in love! (That's our name for her rather than daughter in law. I stole it from a book I read on raising children!) The wedding stress is starting to get to her. We were in the bridal store yesterday getting all of the girls (10 of them in all) fitted for their dresses and it was total chaos! She and my son are getting married in May (a very popular month in our neck of the woods, LOL) and I think every girl and her mother were there trying on bridal dresses. Our poor little consultant was run to the earth trying to fit ten giggling girls and then one of the mothers was unhappy with the color choice of her daughter's dress for the wedding AND she didn't want to use the bridal store for alterations, which my DIL told everyone they were going to do. I got to missing her (my DIL) and found her in the corner, crying. She'll be OK but she admitted that it is starting to stress her out a bit. I laughed to myself and thought, "Sweetie, we haven't even got started, yet!" Then she and I spend the afternoon shopping for the reception, which I am in charge of. (She's making such a wonderful effort to include the mother of the groom, even though she doesn't have to, which I just think is grand.) We then went to my mother's for the evening, which was her first time to be with all of the family, including my brother, whom just got home from his job.
So, we had a busy day and the wedding is starting to shape up nicely. Hard to believe that my son is old enought to get married, but he is and I have to admit, I think he chose well. Of course, he spent time praying about it and counseled with our wonderful pastor, who was in agreement. That's what makes the difference: knowing you have found the one God intended for you to have. I know I did and I am so thankful, each and every day, for him.
Peace,
Southern Ladye
